Thursday’s match between Lane United FC and Capital FC Atletico presented a unique opportunity for the Reds.

On an overcast evening in Tumwater, Wa., Oly Town FC stymied every Lane United attack for 92 minutes. Unfortunately for the home side, the Reds finally broke through on a set piece in the 93^rd minute when Spanish netminder Albert Escuin, who had joined the rest of the team in the box, slotted home the rebound from a Brian Torre free kick. 

After Thursday’s hard-fought, scoreless tie against OVF Alliance, we spoke with Lane United FC Head Coach John Galas, defender Michael Hatcher, and forward Duncan McGuire about the match.

Nothing could separate Lane United from visiting OVF Alliance on Thursday evening as the Reds battled to a 0-0 draw at Civic Park. Despite the home side dominating large stretches of play and enjoying a 7-1 advantage on shots on goal, the match ended with the two sides splitting the points.

Last Saturday’s 4-1 win over PDX FC marked season-highs in goals for both Lane United FC and striker José Carlos González, who tallied a hat trick.
